From a technical perspective, they are modular shelving systems consisting of uprights and adjustable shelves, engineered to provide direct access to stored items and ensure continuity in manual handling operations. Unlike pallet racking systems, which are designed for standardised unit loads handled by forklift trucks, light-duty shelving is optimised for direct operator interaction, promoting ergonomics and rapid access to stored products.
