Fifty years together: thank you to the people who built Modulblok

On Friday 16 October, the Amaro plant in Carnia opened its doors for an evening unlike any other. In the place where racking for warehouses all over the world is manufactured every day, the people who have shaped Modulblok over the past fifty years came together: employees and their families, the sales network, customers, suppliers, partners, local authorities and the wider community. Around 400 people gathered to celebrate a milestone that belongs to every one of them.
Half a century in one evening
The story began in 1976 in Pagnacco, just outside Udine. From there it moved on to the Amaro plant in the 1990s, opened up to international markets in the 2000s and, more recently, welcomed Logaut into the Group, bringing structure and automation together. Today Modulblok has 160 employees, three sites and more than 18,000 installations worldwide. These figures tell a story of growth, but behind every one of them are faces, hands and decisions.
The evening opened with a formal session devoted to the journey so far and the outlook for the years ahead: an opportunity to retrace the milestones of half a century and to look to the future together. This was followed by the gala dinner, which ended with the cutting of the cake: the simplest moment of the whole celebration, and perhaps the one everyone shared most.
Thanking each and every one
To the employees, first and foremost, who every day turn designs and steel into safe systems, and to their families, who are part of this story even when they remain behind the scenes.
To the sales network and partners, who bring Modulblok into customers’ warehouses, in Italy and abroad, and interpret their needs every day.
To the customers, who over fifty years have entrusted the company with their projects and, through their requests, have pushed it to grow.
To the suppliers, an essential link in a supply chain that never stops.
To the local authorities and community, who have stood by the company throughout this half-century and made a point of being there on Friday evening.
The evening as covered by Telefriuli
Telefriuli’s cameras were also in Amaro: the broadcaster devoted a special edition of its programme Focus – Gli Speciali to the anniversary, released on 21 October. The report features Chairman Mauro Savio, CEO Andrea Peressi and Andrea Bovone, partner at Equinox.
The common thread is the transformation of the warehouse: from a simple place to store goods into strategic infrastructure – one that, if it stops, can bring an entire company to a standstill. Peressi identifies three challenges for the years ahead – automation, safety and sustainability – and sums up the goal Modulblok is pursuing together with its sister company Logaut: ‘to give our customers a warehouse that works, that is safe and that wastes as little as possible’.
Reaching a milestone like this, the first feeling is gratitude: looking back to remember those who have walked alongside the company, and looking ahead, because that is what keeps it alive. The evening of 16 October was exactly that. Fifty years behind us, and a shared determination to write the next fifty together.
