Festa Logistics – High-density pallet racking solutions for multi-client logistics

Challenge

Festa Logistics, a leading Italian multi-client logistics provider, operates across multiple sites in Montichiari and Castenedolo (Brescia). The company faced the challenge of maximising pallet storage capacity while managing high and variable operational volumes within large-scale logistics platforms.

Key requirements included:

• handling approximately 92,000 pallets per year with highly diversified flows driven by multiple clients and seasonality;
• maximising storage density without compromising accessibility and operational safety;
• ensuring reconfigurable layouts to rapidly adapt warehouse space to evolving service requirements;
• maintaining high standards of structural safety and regulatory compliance;
• delivering new facilities with short implementation lead times to respond quickly to market demand.

The multi-client logistics model required a pallet storage solution that was flexible, scalable and aligned with long-term operational growth, while guaranteeing continuity and reliability.

Solution

To address these needs, Modulblok designed and supplied custom high-density pallet racking systems, extending the collaboration across multiple Festa Logistics sites within a long-term strategic partnership.

The implemented solution is based on:

• Up-front layout engineering, carried out before building construction, to fully exploit the building geometry and maximise volumetric utilisation;
• High-density pallet racking solutions, tailored to different product categories and access requirements;
• Integration of mixed storage configurations, including conventional pallet racking, drive-in systems, cantilever racking and bulk storage areas, to support diversified flows;
• Seismic-resistant structures and sprinkler-ready designs, ensuring operational safety and regulatory compliance;
• A modular and reconfigurable approach, enabling future adaptations and the dismantling/reinstallation of racking systems as operational needs evolve.

A flagship project within this partnership is the new logistics hub in Castenedolo (BS), featuring approximately 50,000 m² of warehouse space and around 49,700 pallet locations, delivered in less than four months from floor completion to go-live.
